Bad Seeds / Mauavaise Herbes
- Catherine Wielant, Caroline Vercruysse
- 50 min
Catherine Wielant studied journalism in Brussels. In charge of “Carrefour Documentation urban Lezarts” for 10 years, she has directed several shows and documentaries, especially around the hip hop dance. Sensitive to all forms of non-standard investing public space and suddenly the phrase questioning, she was very interested in graffiti and street art and has staged several events on this topic. Caroline Vercruysse is a librarian-archivist. She has worked for 4 years at the “Urban Lezarts” documentation center. She is passionately invested in graffiti and street art and has developed knowledge and is informed on everything that is drawn and written on the walls look. She organizes guided tours and exhibitions.
Balancing on the line between questioning and fascination, the film Bad Seeds offers a slightly mischievous but lucid insight into the underground world of Brussels graffiti and taggers, trying to reveal the vision behind this activist movement which coexists between ethics and aesthetics by comparing it to the omnipresent street weeds.
